At the initiative of the Ukrainian Importers of Consumer Electronics Association, CBR research company analyzed trends in the import and sales of household appliances after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to understand how quarantine restrictions could affect the share of legal and gray imports on the Ukrainian market. A summary of the analysis is provided below.

In January-September 2020, imports of the main categories of household appliances and electronics increased by 11% in monetary terms (USD) compared to January-September 2019. The volume of imports amounted to 1,568 mio USD. Revenues to the budget from the import of household appliances and electronics increased by 12% in January-September 2020 compared to January-September 2019. The total amount of receipts for 9 months of 2020 amounted to 352 mio USD (22% of the total import value).
